Which ride-on scraper do I need?

Ride-on scrapers are highly efficient removal machines that reduce labor cost, increase productivity, and improve precision and control over the removal. Of the variety of options on the market, National Flooring Equipment offers 10+ variants of ride-on scrapers to suit your needs.  Here we discuss two of National’s most popular models; the 5700 and 7700 Ride-on scrapers.

The 5700 scraper is a smaller, lightweight machine than its counterpart.  Powered by 12 – 180 Ah batteries, this floor scraper is designed to run all day and remove any flooring material. With a travel speed of up to 120 ft p/min this compact machine transitions easily from residential to commercial work.

In contrast, the 7700 is heavier and wider and runs about 200 ft p/min. Powered by 12 – 200 Ah batteries this scraper also has a larger pump.  The larger batteries and frame give it more weight, while the pump increases the speed.  This additional size, weight, and speed makes it a more powerful scraper. This increased power sets it up well for large open removals indoor or outdoors.

Both the 5700 and 7700 Ride-on scrapers fit a multitude of tooling. National has 19 different styles and sizes of ride-on floor scraper shanks for removal of hard goods. In addition, you have 50+ blades to choose from. Ranging from self-scoring to heavy duty to increased-angle, we’ve thought of all the details. Matching your tooling to the job at hand is critical to making your ride-on scraper work for you.

Even with all of the differences, the run time between these two scrapers is about equal. The 7700’s increased speed and power will drain the batteries at about the same rate as the 5700. When deciding between these two machines, consider the work you do most often. The square footage and type of material being removed are two of the most important considerations when a choosing a scraper.
