How to Polish Concrete with the 8274-4
If you’re using the 8274-4 as your concrete polisher, here’s a quick breakdown of the process:
1. Prep
The 8274-4 is a true planetary 18.5″ grinder. It has 4 positionable weights that can rest over the wheels of the grinding head. Our recommendation is to start with two weights forward. Start your floor prep with metal bond diamond tooling like the 9510-30MB. In this phase, we are grinding to help open up the concrete and prep for polishing.
2. Moving through the steps
As you move through the steps and switch to polishing pads, make sure you progress in order. You don’t want to skip grit levels; the polishing process requires consistency and patience to receive the best results. After each pass, vacuum to remove dust and debris.
4. Final Polishing
Work your way up to finer grit polishing pads, and continue all the way up to a 3000-grit level, depending on the finish results you are looking for. When you get to the final stages of polishing a concrete floor with the 8274-4, put all 4 weights forward and turn up your speed.
